Seeing The End

One of the best parts of being a writer is when you finally begin to see your whole book come together and you know what the ending is going to be, or rather how much longer it will take you to get to the ending. This is what happened to me the other day when I was sitting in Starbucks working on the first draft of a novel when I suddenly felt this great feeling wash over me because at page 45 I knew exactly where the book was going to go.

Now I do understand that this may not sound as exciting to some of you because if you outline of course you know what the ending is going to be. Whereas for me seeing the ending means a great deal, because I write in free form, having no idea where the book is going to go, and only having a small idea of what the ending is going to be.

I would love to be able to tell you all about this new book now, but I can’t because I’m still only on the first draft. Although I will say that the joyful holiday of Christmas has a dark side

Best,

Wes
