This is no easy blog post for me to be writing, and I don’t even want to write it ether. I’ve been thinking over this for the last week and I’ve finally decided that I can’t keep my mouth shut any longer.
I’ve been really upset about what happened in Orlando last weekend, and even a week after these horrifying events I’m still not completely over it. For both of these acts of violence I have the same question to ask. What is wrong with this world, have we gone completely unglued!?
I’ll first begin by saying how shocked I am with the murder of Christina Grimmie. Here she was a young artist (a year younger then me) doing what she loved. She was sharing her gift with the world and was murdered for it, that is so messed up. Every single one of us has a gift, and I guess what I’m trying to say is that I wished we lived in the perfect world where we could share our gifts safely.
Now for the night club shooting. I’m not going to go into too much detail about it, and I’m not going to talk about if it was hatred or terrorism. All I’m going to say is that it was a terrible act of violence that never should have happened, and that I give my deepest condolences to all those who lost partners and family members that dreadful night.
Okay, so I’ve said enough and I’m just about ready to shut-up, but I’m going to end by saying that Orlando Florida is also the home of Walt Disney World- The Magic Kingdom, the happiest place on earth. The point I’m making with this is that right now Orlando is definitely not the happiest place on earth, but right now it may not be a bad idea for us to remember some of the grate Disney Movies-the magic with in them, and the happy endings. I’m not saving that this would make a perfect world, but by going back and remembering the lessons that Disney taught us I hope that one day we’ll be able to live in harmony with each other. Although I must admit that the would be nice if the whole world was like Disney World.
